Bright Light Solar has a strong reputation installing many off grid Solar Powered
Street Lights in Jalingo, Lafia Benin and many other places
throughout Nigeria.
Bright Light Solar has brought light where often there has been
no facility available for lighting. Previously many areas faced
complete blackouts at night. Local people are now able to
continue trading in the evenings with the recently acquired
illumination, which also provides security to populations and has
often helped to reduce crime. Solar power systems provide a
cost effective solution to the power needs of
many businesses. As well as providing superior
reliability, businesses usually find that
maintenance costs are
greatly reduced.
Taraba State and Lafia contacted Bright Light
Solar provide a lighting solution for their main
street in Jalingo and at the government road
junction in the town of Lafia.
Solar Powered Street Lights were installed; the
design utilised a programmable timer that
automatically senses dawn and dusk and is
able to time itself to come on for a set number
of hours after dark (usually set to 6 hours) and
for a few hours before dawn (usually 2 hours).
The most energy efficient of all electrical street
light technologies ‘SOX–E lighting’ is applied to
bring the most amount of light for the least
amount of money.
As Ian Tansley our Technical Director explains " These lamps have proved extremely reliable
and since all other options present intermittent
supply of power the areas around these installations have proved extremely
popular with builders of billboards and advertising posters"
